In Randolph County, North Carolina, about two twenty-five o’clock in the afternoon, officials from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of a collision on United States Route 64, not too far from Iron Mountain Road. They became aware of the accident after receiving the information. One of the passengers in the Mercedes was a male from Asheboro who was 33 years old and a passenger in the vehicle. Another person in the Mercedes was a woman.
Wanda Cox Allred, who was 74 years old at the time of the crash, was driving a 2019 Honda CR-V in the direction of westbound traffic on US 64 when the incident took place. The individual crossed the center line and caused an accident with Allred’s vehicle when they drove into it head-on. Officers say that the spot where the event took place is where Allred passed away.
As soon as it was determined that the individual who was discovered to be in a critical condition in Randleman could be found there, he was sent to the nearest hospital for treatment. The passenger had only sustained relatively minor injuries, but she was sent to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment. There is still more work to be done on the inquiry into this situation. During the approximately two hours that an investigation was taking place close to Iron Mountain Road on U.S. Route 64 (US 64), all lanes traveling westbound on US 64 were completely stopped.
