Skyler Delaney Obituary, Death – Skyler Jayden Delaney, age 18, of Pineville, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, and is now at peace forever. On Thursday, May 11, 2023, visitation for Skyler will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gallagher Funeral Home. On Friday, May 12, 2023, visitation will take place once again from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Bentley United Pentecostal Church.
Bentley United Pentecostal Church will be the location of the services to be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 11:00 am. Pastor David Kimsey and Randy Briggs will preside over the ceremony.
Because green was one of his favorite colors, all of his friends and family were asked to wear it to the memorial service in his honor. After the service, the interment will take place in the Big Creek Cemetery in Pollock, with Keith Maxwell serving as the officiant.
Skyler’s great-grandpa James Delaney, great-grandma Evelyn Cameron, paternal great-grandparents Thelma and Joseph Ortego, Sr., a cousin named Jaelei Cubbit, and an uncle named Ryan Delrie all passed away before him. Skyler is survived by his parents, Charles “Fergie” Ferguson and Nannie Ferguson. His grandparents were Charles “Fergie” Ferguson and Nannie Ferguson.
Those who are left to honor his memory are his parents, Dusty and Heather Delaney; his brother, Kaleb Gerald; his sister, Mya Zimmer; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Angie Delrie; his grandfather, Greg Delaney; his maternal grandparents, Brian Ortego and Tina Cameron; his great grandma, Dolly West; his step great grandma, Sharon Delaney; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Skyler was the kind of young man who could brighten the atmosphere of any room he entered. He was really passionate about the game of basketball and his tennis shoes. He was the type of person who would put the needs of others ahead of his own and volunteer his time and resources to do so.
He was a successful student who went on to compete in the J.A.G. program at the national level for his state. He enjoyed his time at Wendy’s and Walmart on 28 East, both of which he worked. He had the bravery of a hero but the charm of a joker, and as a result, he won the affection of a great number of people.
In addition to that, he gave the gift of life to others by donating organs when he passed away. All those who knew and loved him will miss him dearly after his passing.
