Larry Coleman Obituary, Resident of Stockbridge, Georgia Has Died

Larry Coleman Obituary, Death –  Larry Ray Coleman, 66, of Stockbridge, Georgia, died at Piedmont Henry Hospital on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. He was born to the late Herbert Joseph Coleman and Shirley Mae Vickery Coleman in Atlanta, Georgia. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gary Coleman, and a sister, Wanda Coleman Brown.

Larry was an exceptional husband, father, and friend. He loved grilling and smoking BBQ for everyone to enjoy. His enthusiasm for woodworking was unrivaled, and he could spend hours in his studio creating intricate pieces and exquisite creations. His deft hands could carve wood into something truly remarkable. He certainly could construct anything he set his mind to. Larry enjoyed fishing and spending time with people when he wasn’t woodworking.

He would do anything for anyone, constantly placing himself last in order to be generous to the people around him. His reputation as a trustworthy and compassionate guy earned him the respect and admiration of everyone who had the good fortune to cross his path. Larry went on a new adventure after retiring from his long-standing employment at JCPenney’s Warehouse, committing himself to the service of others within the Henry County Schools. With his unwavering dedication, he became an important member of the community, taking on the job of maintaining athletic fields.

Larry was instrumental in building a sense of togetherness, collaboration, and spirit by ensuring that the fields were ready for students to enjoy their favorite games. His efforts were not only maintenance chores, but acts of love, as he worked tirelessly to establish safe surroundings for young sports. Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna Kay Gunn Coleman; his daughter, Candace (Ross) Bridges of Macon, GA; his brother, Clay Coleman; his sister-in-law, Anita Coleman; and his niece and nephew, Matt Brown and Christy Coleman. His memory will be treasured by his family, friends, and the community that was fortunate to have him in their lives.
