The injuries that Lance sustained earlier in the day as a consequence of being engaged in an automobile accident near to Nacogdoches ultimately proved to be fatal, and he passed away this afternoon as a result of those injuries. He had spent the day with his employees from Lufkin, who were upset to learn of his passing after having spent the day with him. In the incident that led to those injuries, he had already sustained some injuries earlier in the day. Lance was a member of the baseball teams known as the Lufkin Panthers as well as the Thundering 13 teams at one point or another in his life. Throughout the course of his life, he was a member of both of the teams at various points in time.
On the following Friday, it was anticipated that he, along with the other students in his Class of 2023, would have picked up their diplomas. During this difficult time, we ask that you remember this family, the Lufkin Panther Baseball team, and the Class of 2023 in your thoughts and prayers. We are sorry for the loss of life that this tragedy has caused. We are inconsolable by the senseless loss of life that has taken place and our hearts go out to everyone affected.
