Lake Padden Shooting, On May 15, Lieutenant Claudia Murphy issued a warning to the general public to stay away from the Lake Padden East neighborhood while the Bellingham Police Department investigates a report of shots being fired from guns in the vicinity.
There has been no confirmation from the authorities about whether or not anyone was shot. “Detective and crime scene investigators are investigating this fresh incident,” added Murphy, who stated that the investigation was currently continuing and that it was now being carried out. “At this time, we will not be providing any additional information, and we ask that you please refrain from going near Lake Padden East for the remainder of the night.” “At this time, we will not be providing any additional information.”
According to Murphy, the general public should be able to visit the eastern portion of the lake by Tuesday, and if this does not occur, the general public will be informed. Additionally, she warned individuals not to believe any rumors that might be shared on social media platforms such as the Bellingham subreddit.
“We don’t want anything to be worse than it is or have anything inaccurate,” continued Murphy. “We don’t want anything to be worse than it is.” “We don’t want anything to be even worse than it already is.” We will make a statement available tomorrow; however, we are currently holding off until the investigators have completed their work. Lake Padden East will continue to be off limits to any and all incoming traffic for the rest of the evening, right up until the time when the park is scheduled to close for good at sunset.
The Boston Police Department (BPD) has sent crime area investigators and detectives to the spot where there was a gunshot so that they can conduct a thorough investigation of the surrounding area. There is only a restricted amount of information available to be accessed at this point in time. As the investigation progresses, any new information that comes to light over the course of it will be made public.
In order to give our employees the space they require to examine this situation, we are requesting that everyone stays away from Lake Padden Park East at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are grateful for your understanding and can promise you that the park will open at the time that it is normally planned to do so tomorrow, unless we tell you otherwise.
