Josiah Boteilho Obituary, Death – I am writing to advise you of the death of Josiah Boteilho, a Shea Middle School student. We learned earlier this morning that his family was involved in a car accident around 30th Street and Greenway Road.
I’m heartbroken to say that this collision killed Josiah. Other family members involved in the disaster, including four siblings and both parents, are in stable condition or have been discharged from the hospital. I’m providing this information with Josiah’s family’s consent. Josiah was a good student, a kind-hearted and caring young man, and a superb student wrestler. His absence on our campus will be felt.
I don’t have any further information to share at this time. On behalf of our student body, staff members, and community, I want to express our heartfelt condolences to friends and family who are presently grieving this tragic loss. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time and appreciates not being bothered directly.
The District Care and Concern Team, comprised of social workers, psychologists, and nurses, will assist our kids and staff on Monday. This team will spend time in affected classrooms assisting students and teachers. Students who are clearly disturbed will be permitted to leave class and seek help in a smaller group setting. We will try to return pupils to their normal routine if they are ready. A GoFundMe page has been created for the family.
