Gerry Finneran Obituary, Death – Our hearts are heavy and full of grief as we say goodbye to Gerry Finneran, whose life was sadly cut short yesterday and who passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by the loving family that he cherished so dearly.
As we say our goodbyes, we are thinking about how he was able to pass away with his family by his side. Following his passing, he and his wife Bridie are reunited in the heavenly home they shared together before he died away. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dermot, who is survived by his wife Louise, Fiona, who is married to Eugene, and Blathin, who is married to Alan, as well as his grandchildren, both on earth and in heaven, and all of the extended members of the Finneran family.
This is an extraordinarily difficult and heartbreaking time for everyone involved. Gerry will be remembered as a founding member of Glenfarne CCE, and we will be grateful to him for the rest of our lives for his unshakable commitment to developing traditional Irish music and culture within the Glenfarne community. We will remember Gerry as a founding member of Glenfarne CCE. When it came time for us to make choices, we knew we could always count on Gerry to provide his input and use his behavior as a model for how we should conduct ourselves.
At the most recent Leitrim County Fleadh, it was a great honor for each and every one of us to have the opportunity to spend time with him. Gerry will hold a very special position in each of our hearts forever. An exemplary gentleman who is also a loyal friend to each and every one of us.
