Frederick Schmitz Obituary, Death – Frederick Raymond Schmitz, Sr., age 72, of St. Johns, Michigan, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 13, 2023. He was a resident of Michigan. At a later time, a Memorial Service will be held in honor of the deceased. Frederick A. and Rosie (Cook) Schmitz welcomed their son Frederick into the world on April 2, 1951, in the city of Lansing, in the state of Michigan.
He completed his high school at Pewamo Westphalia and received his diploma there. He was a soldier in the United States Army. The wedding took place on June 5, 1982, between Frederick and Gale Ruthruff. The 23rd of April 2019 saw the passing of Gale.
The Bluewater Band featured Fred’s talents as a musician. He had a wide variety of interests, and some of his favorites were listening to music, going hunting, watching movies, practicing martial arts, tanning, and working out.
In everything he did, he always gave it his best effort. Fred was a member of the United States Army and served his country. He left his position at General Motors and retired. Fred’s heart was filled to the brim with happiness because of his grandchildren. He is survived by his children: Theresa Schmitz, Frederick Schmitz Jr., and Amber Pearce; his grandchildren: Kyra, Sasha, Sierra, Zander, Kal-El, and Zeak; his great-grandchildren: Renzo, Kynleigh, and Kash; sisters.
Rosemary Schmitz, Jackie Fall; brothers: Tom and MaryKay Schmitz, Dan and Val Schmitz, John and Tina Schmitz, Luke and Lorraine Schmitz, and brother Bob and Patty Schmitz; sisters-in-law: Debbie Cornell and Dawn Ruthruff; brother-in-law Terry and Judy Ruthruf In addition, Fred is survived by a large number of nieces and nephews, as well as a very, very special nurse named Pam Neumann, who has been a member of the Schmitz Family for a number of years, and a carer named Jean Yordy. His parents, his mother and father-in-law, Richard and Jean Ruthruff, his wife, Payton Reese Axtell, and his brothers-in-law, Rick Cornell and Robert Fall, all passed away before him. His granddaughter, Payton Reese Axtell, also died before him.
