Derek Fernandez Obituary, Death- We are writing to inform the School Community that a former teacher by the name of Derek Fernandez died away recently. His passing is being brought to your attention in this letter.
Despite the great sorrow we feel about the situation, we go ahead and do it. Derek was well-known for his work as an esteemed cricket umpire in addition to his role as a valuable member of our Science Faculty. His work in this capacity earned him a lot of respect. Everyone who was fortunate enough to have spent some time in his company will remember him with a warm and fuzzy feeling in their heart. We would like to express our deepest condolences to Derek’s family, friends, and coworkers following the unexpected demise of Derek.
On behalf of everyone here at work, we extend our deepest condolences. A memorial ceremony to celebrate Derek’s life will be held at Le Pine Funerals in Dandenong on the 15th of May, 2023, at 2:30 in the afternoon. The celebration will be held in Derek’s honor. There is no need for anyone to feel uncomfortable coming to pay their respects to Derek because everyone is more than welcome to take part in the celebration. The Mentone Legends have not had a very productive year in terms of their season so far.
Both on and off the cricket field, Derek epitomized what it means to be a gentleman. He was also the kind of person with whom I shared a lot of laughs and good times. My deepest condolences go out to every member of his family, as well as to all of his friends and the people he worked with. Both Shaun and Kieran, who are Derek’s children, spent a portion of their childhoods participating in soccer at The Soccer Club in one form or another. Derek was a member of the club and a fan of it himself. R.I.P. Derek.
