David Schwartz Obituary, Death – David Earl “Bobcat” Schwartz, 71 years old, passed away on May 11, 2023, at the University of Michigan Health West. He was a resident of Hopkins, Michigan. He was the son of Elwood George Schwartz and Eleanor (Feenstra) Schwartz, both of whom passed away and was born in Grand Rapids on January 12, 1952.
Dave had spent his whole life working in agriculture. After co-owning R-D Tree Removal with his brother for a number of years, Dave founded his own business, Dave’s Stump Grinding, which he continued to run even after he began working for Sebright Products and even after he retired from the company. Dave is likely to be found in his barn on any given day, either assisting friends with the repair of their automobiles, rebuilding an engine, tinkering on his Bobcats, or simply relaxing with a cold Busch Lite.
David is survived by his daughters, Lisa Schwartz, and Mindy (Bill) Teunissen; his sisters, Bette (Jim) Stewart and Shirley (Rob) Smith; his sister-in-law, Cindy (Howard) Hunt; his grandchildren, Brett, Bree, Ana, Ava, and Clayton; and a large number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. His beloved dogs Shadow, Peanut, and Sasha, as well as his brother Richard Schwartz, all passed away before him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by both of his grandparents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from three in the afternoon until eight in the evening at the Burnips Township Hall located at 3003 142nd Avenue in Burnips, Michigan 49314. Instead of sending flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to the Schwartz family to help with the costs of the funeral and burial.
