Cathy McInnis Obituary, Death – Brittany Glover, a Lance Corporal with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, stated that a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday afternoon close to Cope resulted in the death of a citizen of Dillon. The incident took place close to Cope. The event took place in the vicinity of Cope.
The collision took place on United States Route 301 close to Snake Swamp Road at approximately 1:55 p.m.; Snake Swamp Road is located approximately one mile west of Cope. On Snake Swamp Road, an empty 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck was moving in the eastbound direction.
The lone occupant of the vehicle was the driver. The vehicle had no cargo in it. Following that, according to Glover, the incident occurred between the Ram and a 2021 Hyundai Sonata that was heading south on US-301. At that moment, there were two persons traveling together in the Sonata. After being carried there from the scene of the accident, Cathy McInnis, who was a passenger in the Sonata, passed away while she was undergoing treatment at MUSC-Orangeburg.
She had been transported there from the scene of the accident. According to the official report, the Chief Deputy Coroner of Orangeburg County, Sean D. Fogle, indicated that McInnis, who was 65 years old and lived on Nelson Drive in Dillon, South Carolina, passed away as a consequence of the injuries she got in the incident. McInnis was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries she sustained in the collision.
