Brian Oldroyd Obituary, Obituary & Funeral Information

Brian Oldroyd Obituary, Death – Brian Rodney Oldroyd, our gentle giant, was born on March 30, 1982, in Payson, Utah, to Rodney Herbert and Christine Child Oldroyd. He died on May 2, 2023, at the age of 41, from Metastatic Melanoma. Brian was reared in Springville, Utah, and graduated from Springville High School in 2000.

Brian attended and graduated from Southern Utah University after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. Kelsey Cahoon, his wife and wonderful companion, met him here. On May 9, 2008, they were sealed at the LDS temple in Las Vegas. They relocated to San Jose, California, where Brian received his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

His desire to be near family, the mountains, and his favorite Art City Days prompted his return to Springville, Utah. He founded Oldroyd Chiropractic in Spanish Fork, where he found great delight and purpose in assisting his patients and developing long-lasting connections. Stetson (11), Tanner (9), Bridger (7), and Brooks (3) have joined Brian and Kelsey’s family. Brian’s family meant everything to him, and being a caring husband and father was his absolute favorite aspect of life. Brian was a chiropractor by trade, but a hunter by heart.

As a passionate outdoorsman, he instilled in his sons his own enthusiasm and reverence for the environment. Hunting, fishing, and hiking were all favored pastimes, but shed hunting with his brother, Mitch, and their mates were the most exciting. Sports were a constant in his life, whether he was on the sidelines of his son’s games, on the court with his buddies, or gathered with loved ones to watch a big game. His brilliant sense of humor, hugs, and infectious smile will be missed forever. Brian was also recognized for his unwavering devotion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a witness and a passion for the Lord. “If you ever want to feel close to me, meet me at the temple,” he advised his friends and family. I won’t be far away.”
