Bennett Urish Obituary, Death – Bennett L. Urish, who resided in Springfield and was 80 years old, passed away at Springfield Memorial Hospital on May 19, 2023. He was the son of Delbert and Verna (Lussenhop) Urish and was born on April 15, 1943, in Pekin. His mother’s maiden name was Lussenhop. In 1961, he enlisted in the United States Army and was eventually sent to the 4th Armored Division, which was based in Germany.
He enjoyed gardening. Over the course of more than thirty years, he served as Executive Secretary for the Vice President of International Sales at Caterpillar in both the Mossville and East Peoria locations before retiring in 2004. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin. The funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will be presided over by Pastor Daniel Bishop.
Maas-Hurley Funeral Home in Manito will be hosting a visitation on Wednesday evening between the hours of 4 and 7 o’clock. Green Valley Cemetery is going to be used for the interment.
