Amy Grady Obituary, Death – Amy Michelle Grady, age 44, was born on January 16, 1978 in Batesville, Arkansas, and passed away on August 15, 2022 in Memphis, Tennessee. She currently resides in Millington, Tennessee.
Amy received her high school diploma from Williamsburg High School in Williamsburg, Kentucky, in 1996. The following year, in 1999, she graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing program at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee. Amy worked as a geriatric nurse for 23 years, and throughout that time, she earned the admiration and affection not just of her coworkers and patients, but also of the family members of those patients, who cherished her for the compassionate and individualized care she provided for their loved ones.
When Amy was a student at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, she participated in a medical mission trip to Zambia, Africa, during the summer of 2008. The trip was organized by Harding University. She never felt more fulfilled than while she was there providing care for the abandoned infants and children. Amy is survived by her mother, Linda Beckett Grady, of Searcy, Arkansas, a sister Melanie Sanders (Justin), of San Antonio, Texas, and a brother, Brandon Grady, (Rachel), also of Searcy, as well as other aunts, uncles, cousins, and a total of five nieces and nephews. In addition, Amy is survived by a number of extended family members.
Amy’s father, Verlon Eugene Grady, passed away in 2016, her paternal grandparents, Paul and Dora Grady, who lived in Fredericktown, Missouri, her maternal grandparents, Bill and Norma Beckett, who lived in Wheeling, West Virginia, and her maternal great grandparents, Lucian and Vernena Beckett, who also lived in Wheeling. Amy’s maternal great grandparents also passed away in Wheeling. Amy was a devout follower of the Christian church, the Church of Christ. On the morning of Saturday, September 3, 2022, a memorial ceremony will be held.
