At the scene of the crime, Santiago confronted a suspect who was breaking into a car, as indicated by preliminary information provided by the police. According to the authorities, a brawl broke out, and Santiago was shot by the suspect during the fight. He was brought to the regional hospital, where he ultimately passed away. Marcus Santi, a personal trainer at Preston Fitness, said that he was with a customer at the time in question.
